Proxies for API testing
Most of this is not about volume at all. It is about the request arriving from the address the other side expects.
Allow lists want one address
Many providers admit calls only from addresses you register with them. A rotating pool defeats that immediately.
Take one permanent address, register it, and keep it out of every other job.
Separate test from production
Sharing an address between sandbox and live traffic means one limit covers both. When it triggers, everything stops together.
Record what you sent
Store the full request and response for anything that fails. Reproducing a failure from memory is a poor use of an afternoon.
Timeouts
Set them deliberately. Defaults are usually long enough to hide a problem for hours.
