Ranking

How the score is built

The formula

The platform collects ratings of proxy services from rating catalogues and merges them into a single table. A score has two parts: the ratings gathered and the specifications a provider publishes.

  • Collected ratings. One rating moves a score by four thousandths. Neighbouring positions sit about a tenth of a point apart, so overtaking takes roughly twenty-five ratings.
  • Stated specifications. Address types, country coverage and concurrency, taken from each vendor own site. Where a figure is not published, it stays empty.

Positions are recalculated as ratings arrive, which is why the order changes while the page is open.

What the score leaves out

Payments from providers. A position cannot be bought, and a table where it could would be worth nothing.

Marketing claims that cannot be verified from outside. If a number is not published, the card says it is not published.
